Hermitage Museum
The Hermitage Museum is one of the oldest and largest museums in Russia and ranks among the most prestigious museums in the world. It is located in 5 historical buildings, one of which is the Winter Palace – the former residence of the Russian Imperial family. The state rooms of the Winter Palace are magnificently decorated with marble malachite, jasper and lapis lazuli, which provide a fine background for the Hermitage’s many treasures.
