Explore A Shore: The Florida Aquarium's 2-acre outdoor water adventure zone lets the kids cool off while parents relax under the shade of the Cantina bar and grill. Water cannons, geysers and a climbing pirate ship adventure await children of all ages!

Exhibits: From playful river otters to intimidating sharks, there are more than 20,000 aquatic animals and plants to see during a visit to the Aquarium. Touch a bamboo shark in the lobby touch tank or a sea star in the No Bone Zone on the 2nd floor.

Shows: An assortment of entertaining and educational shows are offered during the day including some from underwater! Listen to scuba divers talk about the importance of coral reefs while surrounded by really big sharks! Come face-to-beak with endangered penguins during daily Penguin Promenades.

Take a Virtual Tour: Start with Wetlands under the impressive glass dome, then enter Bays & Beaches where colorful fish and stingrays live in the shallow coastal waters. Next dive in to the Coral Reef gallery and explore an undersea kaleidoscope of fish. Finally, feel the energy of Ocean Commotion!

There’s no better place to cool off from the summer heat and get inches from amazing marine life from all over the world. Don’t forget to bring the kids’ swimsuits so they can splash away in Explore A Shore, our outdoor water adventure zone. Enjoy family friendly entertainment including appearances by The Florida Aquarium Mermaids (5:15pm and 6:15pm - excluding Thursday, July 3rd) and dining options while you soak in the warm summer nights by the bay.

Extended Hours Cruise In addition to our Extended Fun Thursdays we will be offering an extended hours cruise aboard our 72-foot catamaran; the Bay Spirit II. This one hour cruise will run every Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.

Hours of operation

Tour is Available: Daily, Open from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Thursdays Extended hours open until 7:00pm. June 2 & 28, July 12, 19 & 26, Aug 2 & 9, Extended Hours - Open until 8:00pm. Extended Hours Cruise June 19, 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and Aug 7, 14. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
