You’ve seen them swimming, jumping and dancing in West Edmonton Mall’s Marine Life pool and now you can get up close and personal with our California Sea Lions! Touch, train and swim with Pablo, Clara or Kelpie during an exciting and interactive Sea Lion Encounter — the only program of its kind in Canada.

During a Sea Lion Encounter you’ll meet our sea lions one-at-a-time, swim and play games with them, get splashed and towed by them, and learn from our animal care staff and apply that knowledge towards working with the sea lions. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Inclusion

Sea Lion Encounter, Use of wet suits, booties 1 towel per person and life jackets (clients must bring their own swimsuit).

Hours of operation

Encounter starts at 9:30am sharp. Not available on Wednesdays.

Location Please meet at the Marine Life Information Booth (located main level of the mall next to the Sea Lions’ Rock area) at least 10 minutes early.

Additional Information Please bring a swimsuit.

Participant restrictions

Child rate does not include the actual swim activity in the main pool. They will be allowed in the landing/shallow area of the pool and still experience the sea lion up close. Ages 8-11 must have their parent/guardian participate in the program with them. Only four people allowed per swim per day.
