Mt. Rainier Adventure

Washington’s crown-jewel, Mt. Rainier, is encased in more than 35 square miles of snow and ice. Binoculars and cameras are a must on this day-long expedition amid this active volcano’s surrounding old-growth forests, alpine meadows, lakes and waterfalls. Your guide will deepen the small-group experience with naturalist interpretation as you take in the sights and sounds along the drive, and while walking or snowshoeing in the park.

Inclusion

Pick-up and Drop-off at any hotel or location in Downtown Seattle – North of King St, South of Roy St, and West of Interstate 5, Luxury Mercedes Sprinter Vans or SUVs, Highly qualified naturalist Escape Artist guide, Morning tea, coffee & scones, Afternoon snacks and refreshments, Cascadian Safari Lunch with local wine included on full-day escapes, all gear related to activity (snowshoes), all entry, tasting and/or park fees, Comprehensive naturalist commentary, Water and beverages.

Tour departs at 8:00am. Closed: Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, 26 Nov 2015, 24 Nov 2016, 4-10 Jan 2016, and 2-8 Jan, 2017.

Tour is 10.5 hours.

Additional information Inclement winter weather may result in road closures and other unpredictable changes to the itinerary, for which the guide will be prepared to adjust accordingly. The weather can be very cold and there is a lot of snowfall in the mountains. Please dress in warm, non-cotton layers and bring waterproof gear (preferably pants and jacket). If you have hiking boots/snow boots please bring these with you when snowshoeing. Warm socks, hat, and gloves are also necessary. SUGGESTIONS: Hat and sunglass, Light hiking pants made of synthetic materials (not cotton or denim), Non-cotton T-shirt or base layer, A long sleeve shirt or fleece jacket for cool mornings, Rain jacket or shell, Day-hikers or tennis shoes, and Water wicking socks.

Participant restriction Children under the age of 6 are not permitted on this tour. Minors under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
