El Calafate City Tour

This city circuit mostly includes the streets of the old historic town, where you will see some traditional buildings from the time of the pioneers.

Your guide will tell you about the history of these pioneers, show you some fauna and flora, as well as give you other interesting details about this touristic village.

You will visit Laguna Nimez (outside view only), only a few meters from the coast of Lake Argentino. Here, with the use of powerful binoculars at your disposal from the vehicle, you can participate in some bird watching.

Visit the orchards area, where fine fruit like strawberries, cherries, and sour cherries are cultivated with great effort. Here you can learn to appreciate the different production techniques transmitted from generation to generation.

You will also pass by Cuevas del Gualichu (outside view only), an archaeological site about 7 km from the city, where you can view the prints of the first men who inhabited these lands.

Finally you will stop at the Mirador of Virgen de la Paz where you can view El Calafate from an astonishing viewpoint.
