Granada, the oldest city built by the Spaniard in the American continent in 1524. Situated on the shores of Lake Nicaragua, the biggest fresh water lake is in all of Central America. The city itself is a romantic city of colorful colonial homes and neoclassical and baroque churches. Just off Granada, in the lake, are Las Isletas, made up of more than 350 islands created when the Mombacho volcano exploded 20,000 years ago. Granada offers many diverse experiences like Museums, cathedrals, historical sites, nature, restaurants and tobacco factory for shopping.
