Highlights / General details

Aveiro, “Venice of Portugal” is known by the beauty of its natural water channels, which consist in one of the most interesting natural formations along the shore of Portugal. Traditionally connected to the river and to the sea you will be able to feel the culture of the city which is still alive from what was once a fishermans village making a living from the river, the sea, the salt production and fishing.

The tour starts in the fish market square with a panoramic visit in the City Centre, followed by a cruise with the duration of one hour along the beautiful water channels of Aveiro. This cruise will be done in the typical boat called “Moliceiro”, unique in the world and usually completely decorated with motifs related to the local culture - agriculture, fishing, religion and nature.

After the cruise, we take you to “Costa Nova” located next to the sea and a beautiful beach where you will be able to see few of the old typical houses from Aveiro: small in size, painted with bright colors and in vertical stripes.
