Featuring three models of classic American muscle cars, American Muscle Car Challenge by Richard Petty Driving Experience hits the track on March 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada with an all-new experience that puts speed-seekers in the driver’s seat of the hottest and fastest muscle cars in production today.

Pushing these extreme vehicles to the limit in a real test track environment, drivers can show off their skills through a custom-designed course specifically constructed to challenge performance abilities in acceleration, braking, cornering capabilities and top speed. After the exhilarating experience with each of the cars, participants will receive an evaluation of their driving with computerized performance comparisons from video and data acquisition systems, enabling fans to decide, once and for all, which car reigns supreme as the ultimate American muscle car.

American Muscle Car Challenge (AMCC). This program takes place on a test track environment at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Challenge has four modules/segments, each designed to demonstrate the specific performance characteristics of three American muscle icons.

The Challenge Modules: 1st – Acceleration: We’ll capture exactly how quickly you can get each car from a standing start to 60mph. 2nd – Braking Efficiency: You will be measured on the exact distance it takes to go from 60mph to a complete stop. 3rd – Cornering Capability: We’ll use digital data collection to determine the lateral G force generated in a closed section.
4th – Top Speed: How fast can you go over a set distance? The segments have props designed to measure performance and enhance the experience. These will include an F1-style starting line...radar displays showing your speed in mph…digital time displays to show elapsed time…a braking module light trigger…braking distance markers…and of course module identifiers. You’ll get a “practice run” on the test track in each car, so you can get familiar with the layout and individual cars. The next three runs – one in each car – are the ones that count.

Hours of operation

Operational Days may vary; Pick-up time is 1:45pm; Experience time 3:00pm (July and August class at 1:00pm); Pick-up time is 7:45am, Experience time 9:00am and 3:30pm (January – May).

Paris (North Tour Lobby - go right out of the door at Anthony Cools Experience). Treasure Island (Bus Loading Area). The Mirage (North Tour Valet). Harrah’s (Bus Depot adjacent to the main valet).

Itinerary 30 minutes before scheduled experience – Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled driving time to complete their liability waiver and participant information (medical form). 5 minutes – Registration and check in – Check-in and meet your driving coaches. 25 minutes – Driving Instruction – Learn how to master each driving module: acceleration, braking, cornering, and top speed. 15 minutes – Mechanical and Safety Instruction – Learn the details of the three muscle cars you’ll be driving: 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
10 minutes – Driver’s Meeting and Photo Opportunity – This is the time to go over final details, ask last minute questions and receive driving order. Participants will have their photo taken next to each muscle car. Time varies based on capacities – Driving Challenge – Participants will start by driving a non-timed test track runs in each car to learn the modules; and then complete each driving module in each muscle car. 5 minutes – Closing – Participants will receive their driving statistics for each module in each muscle car.

Policies Please arrive at your preferred pick-up location 15 minutes before the stated pickup time. Operation of a manual transmission is required. Driving experiences participants must have a valid driver's license. Maximum number of guests: 5. All guests must sign a release. Price includes a $25.00 driver release fee. If under 18 you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Reservations are required.
Guests should wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. No sandals will be allowed.
