Hotel description

In a world of near-identical Caribbean resorts, Biras Creek is something truly special, more private, more isolated, more unspoiled than the average tropical resort. Everything one expects from a luxury island resort is here, but it is all done a bit differently, and, dare we say, more than a bit better.

The cottages, curiously, are on the Atlantic side of the resort, shockingly close to the water. The coast on this side is rough and rocky, quite the opposite of the white sands and glassy waters of the Caribbean, and the view of the deep blue ocean fills the windows completely. Sharp coral renders the Atlantic waters unsuitable for swimming, and the narrow beach means an absence of foot traffic. All of this makes for surprising privacy and an uninterrupted view. The swimming pool is on the Atlantic as well, and is even more dramatically near the lapping waves.

The Caribbean side is the traditional white sand beach, offering all the expected beachfront activities, swimming, sailing, windsurfing, lounging about. The hilly landscape and nature trails make for excellent hiking, and upon arrival, guests find bicycles waiting outside their suites.

A third body of water abuts the resort — the North Sound, a protected lagoon, with a variety of beaches to explore and a number of reefs for snorkeling. Small motor boats are available on loan from the resort for the purpose of navigating the Sound’s islands and cays.

How to get there:

Private air charters, airport transfers and helicopter transfers can be arranged from Beef Island Airport, Tortola via San Juan, St. Thomas, or St. Martin.

Once at Beef Island Airport, a Biras Creek representative will escort guests for the two minutes drive to Trellis Bay where a private launch leaves for the 30-minute journey to Biras Creek.

When arriving into Virgin Gorda Airport, you will be met by the hotel taxi for a 20 minutes drive across Gorda Peak to Gun Creek, then a 15 minutes boat ride to Biras Creek.

To ensure complimentary transfers (based on a minimum four nights' stay) from Beef Island Airport, Tortola or Virgin Gorda Airport, guests must advise their arrival details at least 48 hours prior to arrival.  In the event that guests should fail to advise their arrival times, transfer costs may be charged. Please contact customerservice@tablethotels.com to arrange airport transfers.
