Mayrhofen sits at the base of the beautiful Zillertal Valley skiing area and is one of Austria’s top ski resorts centred on the traditional Tyrolean village with a notably family-friendly atmosphere. The short transfer times will be attractive to parents with younger children who have a low tolerance to long periods travelling.

What makes Mayrhofen the one of best places for family is the sheer variety of slopes across the two plateaux: the Penken and the Ahorn. Ahorn is great for beginners with gentle nursery slopes, so children are best advised to stick there whilst more adventurous intermediates have plenty of opportunities to explore.

As one of Austria’s premier resorts, Mayrhofen offers an excellent ski school and provides all the facilities you need for a family ski holiday in Austria.
