Snakes are aplenty on Brac, in particular in the Milna area. Locals will strongly discourage you to wander into the wilderness without what they call a Knueppelsk (a chunky wooden stick).

Brac is a large island in the Adriatic sea, just off the coast of Split. In Landscape, Brac is similar to its well known neighbor Hvar with its rolling hills, pine and fig trees, isolate bays and clear water. Brac has 2 larger towns (Bol and Supetar) from where you can catch a ferry to Split/ Dubrovnik (from Supetar) or catamaran ( passengers only) to island Hvar (from Bol).

Split has international airport with many low cost airlines departing from European destinations. Also possible to reach Split with train. Take a ferry from Split to Supetar (45 min) or Makarska to Sumartin (30 min)

Traveling around
On Brac, in almost every place, it is possible to rent cars, scooters also quads and bicycles to explore the island.

There are many sights on the Island Brac. Recommend to visit Dragon's cave near village Murvica on the south side of island.
Hermitage of Blaca, that can be reached from Vidova gora mountain or from the Blaca beach.
Vidova gora moutain is the highest mountain of all Adriatic islands. It has a great view to the Zlatni rat beach, place Bol and islands Hvar and Vis.
Dominican monastery in Bol has a great collection prehistoric items, amphoras and numismatic collection.
Museum of the island in the village Škrip.
Things to do
Visit many pebble beaches and private coves, diving, kitesurfing and windsurfing in Bol.
Eat
Try Brac dishes of domestic lamb (vitalac) and famous Brac cheese.
Drink
Brac is famous for its wines, the most famous is Bolski Plavac. Spirits made of grapes with herbs.
