General

In the very heart of the high-lying Engadin Valley is the charming village of Bever, which does nothing more passionately than tells stories – with its quaint gardens, its deep-set windows and its natural ice sculptures adorning the step railings, fences and guttering. And with its mighty, newly renovated church tower, which rises up towards the blue sky and boldly strikes the time, time that here seems to pass by at a more leisurely pace than elsewhere.

Those seeking peace and quiet should make their way to Spinas, situated four kilometres (2.5 miles) away at the southern portal of the Albula railway tunnel. Whether on foot by way of the perfectly prepared winter hiking path, on cross-country skis along the freshly cut trails or striking out on snowshoes – here the journey is the reward. And if you keep your eyes open, with a little bit of luck you might spot some of the wildlife that move around quite naturally here.

Unspoilt, natural and child- and family-friendly: that’s Bever. The trim village with is unpretentious Engadin charm offers visitors the chance to enjoy peace, tranquillity and a closeness to unspoilt nature – and much more besides. The small but special resort is an ideal base for romantic winter walks, extended cross-country ski trips and toboggan adventures – for example, in the Val Bever – as well as all manner of snow sports activities in the nearby winter sports areas.
