The gorges were formed by the Hăşdate river, having a length of almost 3.000 meters and a height of 300. Beside a good hike, they offer spectacular views. They are the most beautiful and popular gorges in the Apuseni Mountains.
Home to more than a thousand species of plants and 67 bird species, including the rare cliff eagle, the gorges are a protected reservation. 60 caves are to be found here, almost all of small sizes, only eight of them are longer than 20 meters. Many archaeological discoveries were made in these caves and things like tools, bowls and ornaments were found.
Turzii Gorges are an attraction for all nature lovers, hikers and climbers. The hiking trails cover more than 100 km. The paradox is that you'll meet more foreign tourists than Romanians when you'll visit this place.
