The place where everyone wants to go when visiting Zakynthos.
Originally called Agios Georgios, it changed its name after a boat that was transporting illegal cigarettes shipwrecked here in 1983. The ship stands in the middle of the white beach, surrounded by sand giving the impression it emerged out of it.
The beach is located in the eastern part of the island, and you can take a taxi-boat from Porto Vromi's small port. They are leaving every hour and the trip is 30 minutes.
Shipwreck Beach is surrounded by huge vertical cliffs of white rocks, creating a unique and secluded paradise, which is why the place is also called Smugglers Cove.
