Horseshoe Bend is actually a feature of the Colorado river canyon. It only takes a short drive south of Page, Arizona and then a one kilometer hike from the main road, but it's totally worth it. It is part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, located downstream from Lake Powell.
The view of the Horseshoe Bend is so amazing, and no photo, be it as amazing, cannot truly do it justice. You just have to go and experience it in person. Looking down from a steep cliff at the amazing Colorado river, making it's way through the colored rock, and leaving behind a horseshoe shape it's a thrilling experience. Be extra careful, there are no safety barriers.
