Hanakapiai Beach, Na Pali Coast, Kauai, Hawaii

A remote beach on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, 2 miles (3.2 km) from the start of the popular Kalalau Trail. Although the beach is known to be extremely dangerous because of the strong currents and rip tides, it is still a very popular beach. Hanakapiai is marked by hidden dangers because of the lack of reefs to hinder ocean currents. People come here looking for for a quiet place, to get away from the madness of day to day life. And that's exactly what they find.
