"The King" of rock 'n' roll, the idol of young Americans sold
more than 500 million records worldwide and made 33 films before passing away in 1956.
The autopsy indicated that Presley died of a heart attack formally known as "cardiac arrhythmia", a sever irregular heartbeat. No sign of other disease were found, although The King had been recently treated for hypertension, pneumonia and an enlarged colon -- and there was no sign of any drug abuse.
On August 18 he was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, next to his mother. With no security to look after his remains, only 10 days later there was an attempt to steal his body. His and his mother's remains were reburied at Graceland in the Meditation Garden in October where his grave is to be found today.
