Prejmer is a town located 18 km northeast of Brasov, founded by the Teutonic knights in the 13th century. It is famous for its fortified church, one of the best preserved in Eastern Europe. The church was built in Gothic style and in the 15th century, the fortress around it was built as a defence shelter. The wall is 3-4 meters thick and 12 meters high.
Between 1962 - 1970 it was carefully restored to its present condition.
