Ocean Blue Adventures is investing in environmentally correct measures, such as the Program of Community Vegetable Gardens. This project, with relatively small contribution of resources, can benefit and reach a great number of people living in Qoweni with only 20% of this community working. Lastly we would like to introduce three very courageous and heartily woman who have given their lives to help other people in need, through a soup kitchen discovered by these woman we were able to make their dream a reality by offering members of the community especially those who have aged or dying of HIV a healthy meal once a day. We are so proud to be part of this and guest will be intrigued by the generosity of these selfless women. On request you can be entertained by the Umthombo Theatre Group performing traditional dances and listening to the exceptional choir singing their favorite songs.

Local African Guest House Ihlengethi (An African Name for Dolphin) is situated in the center of the Qolweni community, where the locals will introduce you to real African cuisine or you could enjoy a beverage at the local shebeen ( local pub ) You would be entertained by the local Umthombo Theatre choir while the ladies introduce you to their hand made goods. How does the community benefit? The funds rose through the performances, township tours and a percentage of Ocean Blue Adventures turnovers get utilized to pay Teachers Salaries and towards the maintenance of the Qolweni crèche to allow all children the opportunity for education they deserve. This allows their moms to seek employment knowing their children are well looked after and fed. The trust also creates jobs by employing teachers for the crèche, currently the crèche has a principal and 7 teachers looking after 240 children. Ocean Blue is now in the process of building another classroom to accommodate more children, bringing our number of class rooms to 5. We understand that Community Development and Upliftment is a very important aspect of implementing our ideals. Therefore we chose to work to gather with the most disadvantaged sector of our community through the formation of the Qolweni community Development Trust Languages Offered – English, Afrikaans, Dutch, German, Xhosa, and French
