Itinerary Discover the magic sights lining Prague’s left riverbank, from the grandeur of the Prague Castle to the atmospheric Little Quarter, on this half-day Prague tour. Enjoy the Czech capital as we set off from under the watchful gaze of the Charles IV statue on the Charles Bridge in the city’s Old Town. Cross over the bridge, then jump on the funicular for the ride to the top of Petrin Hill and take a glimpse at Petrin Tower, a 60 m high steel structure that resembles the Eiffel Tower. Next on our Prague walking tour, head to Strahoy Monastery, and admire one of the country’s first monasteries, dating back to the 12th century. Today, this is not only an active place of pilgrimage but also a valuable museum and famous library that house an impressive number of rare books. Venture along the Novy Svet, a winding street that is little explored by tourists, and still maintains a vibe of Medieval Prague. This picturesque little alley, with façades from the 17th and 18th centuries, now houses many artists' studios and is an ideal place to amble along. At the end of the Novy Svet lies the Prague Castle, a vast sprawling collection of structures that date from the 10th to the 20th century. Learn about the history of this vast complex as you wander through its many structures, all linked by internal courtyards. This is a must see and a highlight of any Prague travel adventure. Leave the castle behind as our Prague walking tour continues through the labyrinthine medieval streets of the Lesser Town, the oldest part of the city. Discover the meaning of the symbols that adorn the houses and duck into the Wallenstein Gardens for a moment of relaxation. Continue on to St Nicholas Church where you can admire one of the most beautiful and largest Baroque churches in Europe, a place where Mozart used to practice on the organ during his visits to Prague. Make a wish at the wax statue of the Jesus Child, famous for its miraculous powers. Walk past the John Lennon Wall, the place where dissidents used to meet and protest against the Communist regime, before crossing a nameless bridge onto Kampa Island for some unique Prague sightseeing. It’s hard not to feel the romance of this location, especially when you see the hundreds of padlocks that lovers like to hang from the bridge railings before tossing the keys into the Vltava River to seal their love forever. Finish the Prague tour back at Charles Bridge, strolling under the gaze of its Baroque statues.
