Our tour through the narrow streets of Stone Town begins from your hotel in Stone Town. You will be collected by a Zanzibar Unique guide at 9:00am and begin the walk through the windy Arab style streets of the ‘old city’. Your guide will explain the history and culture of Zanzibar whilst walking to Darajani Market, with its array of fruits, vegetables and fish/meat as well as many other items including beautiful materials, spices, woven baskets and much more. You will then continue your walk to the Khanga Market where a heady selection of materials and designs can be seen.
From here, you will continue on to the Jeweler Market. Have a look and marvel at the filligree work in gold and the superb gemstones such as the famous Tanzanites. You will be taken to the famous Hamamni Baths, which are by far the largest and among the best preserved historic monuments of Zanzibar, and from the baths you will walk through a part of town where you can find particularly beautiful doors. After the tour we invite you to enjoy a traditional cup of authentic Zanzibar Coffee which will mark the end of the tour. You will be walked back to your Stone Town hotel.
